Parachute Bedding 101

In 2019 I began the search for the perfect bedding. You know, the bedding you sleep in at luxury hotels- the bedding you dread parting ways with in the morning. There are many quality brands out there but I love that Parachute is fair trade. Their products are also safely made without any harmful chemicals or synthetics.

I started with the lightweight down alternative duvet paired with the linen duvet cover and never looked back. Fast forward two years, my entire bed is Parachute- down to the mattress pad! The linen magically gets softer with every wash and the duvet itself has maintained its cloud-like fluff since day one.

Below are my top picks to ensure a good night's sleep…

Linen

Known for its durability and breathability, Parachute’s linen is a good choice if you're a cool-warm sleeper and if you're looking for all-season comfort. The natural fiber wicks away moisture, so you stay cozy, not sweaty. You should note that if you aren't used to sleeping in linen, its slightly rough texture, in the beginning, takes some getting used to but rest assured it gets softer with every wash.

Percale

The holy grail for hot sleepers and my personal favorite. If you sleep on the warmer-hot side, your search for the perfect bedding ends here. Percale is cool and crisp to the touch and gives off major luxury hotel vibes. The list of benefits to sleeping with percale is quite long but here are a few: doesn't trap heat, moisture-wicking, breathable & lightweight, smooth, cool and crisp, durable, and suitable for year-round use- especially for my fellow Southern Californians.

Brushed Cotton

Think sleeping in your boyfriend's oldest most-used cotton t-shirt. Brushed cotton is the best of both worlds when it comes to sheets. It's comfortably warm but doesn't trap heat and ideal for the sleeper who prefers a little insulation without making you overheat.

Sateen

Like Percale, Sateen is known for its luxury and more often than not, what you'd find in 5-star hotels. The difference? It has a much tighter weave than percale, making it trap heat to keep you warm and cozy. It's naturally wrinkle-resistant even after continuous washing. What I like specifically about Parachute’s sateen is that it has a matte finish vs. shiny like you typically find in other sateen products.

We know how important quality sleep is for our well being i.e. improved productivity & concentration, weight loss, increased athletic performance and a balanced metabolism to name a few. We spend roughly 1/3 of our lives in bed so why not enhance our sleep with quality bedding?
